THE STORY OF THE GITH IS ROOTED IN A CRUEL ТWist of cosmic fate. Inspired by the great

leader for whom the race is named, the gith rose up to overthrow the mind flayers that

held them in servitude. But after they won their freedom, ТWo factions among the gith

disagreed on what kind of civilization they would forge. That disagreement quickly flared into open hostility, and the ТWo groups distanced themselves from one another to pursue their separate agendas. They remain bitter enemies today, each side willing to fight to the death whenever they cross paths. The githyanki were motivated by revenge and convinced that they deserved to take whatever they wanted from the worlds they trАVeled. Ranging out from the

titanic city of Tu'narath on the Astral Plane, they send raiders out to plunder the Material Plane and other worlds, bringing treasures and slАVes back to their ageLЕSs realm. At the same time, they hunt down and kill mind flayers whenever possible, as recompense for what the illithids did to them. The githzerai believed that the path to an enlightened civilization lay in seclusion, not conflict. Their dedication to the principLЕS of order is so strong that they can manipulate the stuff of chaos and use it to their benefit; thus, they hАVe carved out a stronghold for themselves on the plane of Limbo that is virtually im- pervious. Though the githzerai are pacifists by nature,

they share the githyanki's racial hatred for mind fl.ayers, and from time to time they send out squads to destroy illithid outposts. If the ТWo races were ever to team up against the

illithids, a combined force of gith could conceivably tip he balance in their fАVor. But as long as the githyanki and githzerai stay at each other's throats, their goal of ultimate victory over their original common enemy will likely remain unachieved.

不知過了多久，奴隸們對(duì)于靈吸怪的靈能控制漸漸有了抗性，這時(shí)天將降大任于斯人，奴隸中出現(xiàn)了一個(gè)天選之子，其名字為吉斯，吉斯有著不可思議的近戰(zhàn)和靈能能力。

在吉斯的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)下，聲勢(shì)浩大的奴隸在靈吸怪帝國(guó)內(nèi)部爆發(fā)，不到一年時(shí)間，靈吸怪主腦大量死亡，剩余的也不得逃亡到各個(gè)世界的角落，奴隸成功了。

為了慶賀自己的整個(gè)種族的新生，他們以領(lǐng)袖的名字命名了自己的種族，吉斯。

吉斯認(rèn)為，雖然吉斯已經(jīng)成功了，但是靈吸怪依然役有被全部消滅，而且吉斯這個(gè)種族生來就應(yīng)該統(tǒng)治世界，搶奪財(cái)富，奴役其他種族，這樣才能讓整個(gè)種族升華。

另一位領(lǐng)袖，名為澤西莫恩，則認(rèn)為，吉斯應(yīng)該專注于修復(fù)自己種族的創(chuàng)傷，不應(yīng)繼續(xù)沖突，同時(shí)軍事化和掠奪其他種族和靈吸怪的邪惡沒什么兩樣。

很快，吉斯內(nèi)部應(yīng)為路線不同分類為兩派，吉斯洋基人(意思為吉斯的支持者或者吉斯的孩子);和吉斯擇萊人(反對(duì)吉斯的，支持澤西莫恩的)

兩派開始了殘酷的戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)，最后澤西莫恩被殺死，剩下的吉斯?jié)扇R人選擇退居混沌海，隱世不出。

只要吉斯樣基人和吉斯?jié)刹巳诉€在堅(jiān)持自己的路線，他們之間的紛爭(zhēng)就不會(huì)停息。

唯一還可以讓兩派暫時(shí)和解的，也只剩下獵殺靈吸怪了吧
